School Improvement Plan

Process for 2016 and beyond

The school improvement process has changed to include a more active approach to school improvement planning and implementation. We are now using an online system, Indistar, to document goals and progress towards those goals. After clicking on the Indistar link, use this username and password to access our plan, Guest Login - Password / GuestS17620 - GuestS17620. ​You can also join us during our school improvement sessions; the dates can be found on our google calendar located on our homepage. 

The School Improvement Plan is attached for public review. This is a living document so please feel free to contact the school if you have questions or comments pertaining to the plan.


2015-2016 School Improvement Plan

2015-2016 Process
Week of August 17 and 24- Nominations and Voting for SIP Team.
September 3, 2015 Initial School Improvement Team Meeting.
September 4, 2015-Updated plan sent out to team members for review.
September 8, 2015-Team members shared feedback with members of their departments for
feedback. Feedback was submitted for review and plan was updated.
September 15, 2015-Plan was shared with Parent/Advisory Council and accepted by members   of the council.
September 22, 2015-Plan was voted on and 
approved by 100% of staff. 
September 23, 2015- Plan was presented to central office representatives and approved.
October 30, 2015-AdvacEd Standards meetings to update school ratings and artifacts.
November 2, 2015-Continued AdvancEd Standards meetings.

Week of August 4, 2014- Nominees sent to principal
Week of August 11, 2014- Nominees voted on by staff
August 15, 2014 School Improvement Team held first meeting to discuss focus. 
August 19, 2014- School Improvement Team met a second time to refine focus and add
strategies.
August 21, 2014- School Improvement Team met to discuss and add strategies.
August 26, 2014-Each School Improvement Team members met with their respective
department to refine focus and add strategies.
August 27, 2014-Each School Improvement Team members met with their respective
department to refine focus and add strategies.
August 28, 2014-School Improvement Team reconvened and provided suggestions from each department.
September 4, 2014- School Improvement Team provided final feedback.
September 19, 2014-School Improvement Plan was approved by 100% of faculty.
December 4, 2014- AdvancEd Meeting to discuss progress and update website. Our Mission and Vision Statements were reviewed, but we felt, as a staff, that we need to wait until WCPS reviewed and updated the district mission and vision statement before adapting ours.
January 15, 2015-School Improvement teams convened to add mid-year documentation.
March 19, 2015-AdvancEd meeting related to required action #3 "Develop and implement methods of professional development to enhance pedagogical strategies linked to differentiation of instruction."
April 30, 2015-AdvancEd Committees met to update self assessments, websites, and artifacts.

September 23, 2013-School Improvement plan sent back to staff for discussion.
September 26, 2013-School Improvement plan voted on and approved by staff.
September 30, 2013-School Improvement plan presented to WCPS board representatives.
January 9, 2014- Mid Year update on High school testing. Growth of 17.9 proficiency points from last year.
